As we slide into October and the leaves are tumbling with their beautiful hues of gold and ochre, muted mustard and rusted reds my thoughts turn to the season ahead. The world remains in unchartered waters and who knows which way it will twist and turn from here.  All we can do is anchor ourselves in that which we can control, for me that feels like home right now. After all, there is no place like it.

I love making subtle changes throughout the house as a nod to the season ahead. In the bedroom my Elizabeth Scarlet Ananas pineapple quilt is delicately draped at the end of the bed in anticipation and the linen cushions are now switched out with the Elizabeth Scarlet Ananas Mauve velvet cushion with their pop of vibrant colour. I am styling this with our ester & erik 42cm tapered candles in dusky lilac displayed in the new matt black candle holders and on my bedside table a Van Vere fleur de lys carafe with a matching glass.

Home scents are everything and able to evoke the season at a moments notice, Mimosa has been our favourite Geodesis candle of late it is beyond beautiful but today we have Black Tea burning and it seems to fit the moment.

Finishing touches

In my sitting room I am bringing in our gorgeously tactile moss stitch throws in charcoal and dusky pink for comfort and joy alongside an aromatic diffuser and candle by Illumens in the rather gorgeous Reading Room evoking the feeling of a grand country house full of floristry and recently cleaned with wax and polish.

Enjoy the change in seasons  and the feeling of evolvement that it brings. Wishing you a very happy and peaceful October.

Much love,

Rebecca x
